The GPS tracking was very accurate for my family. I love that I can set “danger zones” and “safe zones” on this device. I receive an alert as soon as my child steps into a dangerous zone. It’s a great feature. A gate in my neighborhood leads to a busy street. My son knows not to go beyond the gate, but if he ever does step through it, I’m alerted immediately. The watch also has an SOS feature that he can use to notify me of an emergency. The watch has a flashlight application that he can use when he’s outside at night.

Another aspect I loved about the watch is that it’s controlled with an app on the parent’s phone. Only I am able to add contacts to my son’s Gabb watch which can help protect him from unwanted interactions or socializing with someone he shouldn’t be contacting. My app allows him to have 25 contacts. He can’t send or receive any messages from anyone not on his contact list.

I can also set the watch to lock mode so that he doesn’t get distracted during school hours. He can only use the watch to contact me during that time.

The Gabb kids watch comes with 15 customizable presets for text messages, voice messages and emojis. When I text my child, he will only be able to respond with the presets. At this age, he could need more functionality than what is offered by the watch. If you’re looking for more unrestricted communication with your child, the Gabb wireless phone might be the better bet. The watch has a lot of restrictions, so I would recommend it to younger children ages 5-8. (Gabb recommends it to ages 5-11).

The Gabb Wireless Phone is great for older kids who are more independent. 

The Gabb Phone has many more features than the Gabb Watch. It’s pretty cool! For a first phone, it’s very age-appropriate. It does not have social media, games or internet. But it has a lot of safety features. The phone includes Bluetooth, front-facing 8MP and 5MP cameras, calculators, alarm clocks, and fingerprint scanners for security.

The device comes with GPS tracking, so that my daughter can locate her device in case she loses. Similar to the Gabb watch, I can program her phone to have “safe zones” and “danger zones” which means I know her location at all times. If my kid wanders into the danger zone, I’ll be immediately alerted – this is a huge perk of Gabb products. Tracking is very accurate. It worked great and was very easy to use! 🙌

It’s great that the Gabb phone allows my daughter to add her own contacts, which I can monitor with my app. She can also send texts freely without having to use presets. She can answer any question I ask. I can either text her using my normal text messaging app or via regular texting. Gabb Music, an age-appropriate streaming music app, is also available on the phone. The lyrics are clean and I don’t have to worry about her accidentally stumbling upon any mature language.
