The recipient can use the gift cards and display the jar for Christmas decorations. You could even make a few diy snow globes to decorate your home for the holidays.
Here are some gift card Mason Jars that I made in 2014 and shared with all of you!
I love that this is so easy and fun to put together, and I’m excited to highlight this idea again! To make the gift card stand upright, attach it to a binderclip and use hot glue to adhere it to the inside jar. Then you could fill it with cotton balls, faux snowflakes, and any little Christmas ornaments or miniatures you’d like!
Check around your house for ornaments, faux snow, and bottlebrush trees. Target has some cute and affordable ornaments and trees this year! Most of these should have been on sale already!
This ornament is similar to the one I used for the jar pictured above. It pairs well with a Starbucks gift certificate and a sixteen oz. wide mouth mason jar. Target.com offers a 12-pack jars of glass for only $14.99.
Michaels has the bigger apothecary containers. Target.com offers a wide variety of adorable ornaments to choose from. These miniature deer figurines are adorable too.
Snow Globes with Gift Cards
1
Begin by sticking a binderclip with a giftcard to the bottom of a glass jar. (Make sure that you select jars large enough to accommodate a giftcard).
2
To hide the clip, place a little cotton or faux snow on the bottom.
3
Add bottlebrush trees or ornaments to create an winter scene.
4
Close jar and tie with ribbon or baker’s twine to embellish.
How to make DIY Mason jar Snow Globes with Gift Cards:
- These jars should have a wide mouth so they can fit the gift cards. Stores like Target, Craft stores, Thrift stores, and even some grocery store may carry them. A gift card measures about 3.5 inches, so make sure it’s at least that wide.
- Dollar Tree has inexpensive ornaments, such as Christmas or winter-themed pieces and mini villages. Target’s Dollar Spot is also a good option!
- I use a bit of hot glue to glue down the gift card and some of the lighter trees so they don’t tip over. It’s up to you if you want to glue down each item. I think it’s nicer to leave the ornaments unglued so the recipient can use them on their tree if they want.
These little Mason jars with Christmas gift cards are my absolute favorite!
These will most likely be my binder clip this year and I’m so excited to make more. What a creative and fun way to dress up a giftcard!
