I wasn’t sure about the upright design of this waffle maker. You have to get used to it and be careful to not overfill the waffle maker. It’s worth the effort for the waffles that it produces. Every time, we get waffles that are perfectly shaped and browned. They are crisp on the outside but soft on the interior.
A word of caution: the batter does make a big difference. We mixed up a simple flour and water batter to cook a test waffle since I’m not a fan of eating off of new nonstick cookware even if thoroughly washed. After ten minutes at the highest temperature, we repeated beeps and the waffle was still white and raw. As soon as we added the proper waffle mix, the waffles were crisp and fluffy, with a perfect browning.
I am a big fan of this waffle maker.
