Find out why this is one of the best alternatives to down comforters on the market.
Sleep with the cloud! ☁️
I’ve found the best down alternative comforter after a year of testing. It’s $100s less than luxury bedding without compromising on quality.
What is an alternative down comforter?
Down alternative comforters mimic the warmth and feel of traditional down comforters without using animal products. Down-alternatives are made with synthetic materials, such as polyester or microfiber clusters.
They’re a popular choice for individuals who prefer cruelty-free or hypoallergenic bedding and provide similar softness, fluffiness, and warmth as down-filled comforters. They’re often machine washable and may be more affordable than genuine down comforters too.
Quince makes the best down alternative duvet on the market & I’ve tested it for a year and counting.

If you’ve ever shopped for a duvet insert, you know just how difficult it is to find the perfect one. You want the right amount to fluff and not feel too hot. Also, you don’t want it to look lumpy. You can do it all on a budget.
I honestly didn’t think an affordable version that hit all those points existed, so a few years ago I splurged on a Parachute Home duvet that was $470. (Even their alternative down duvets are a hefty splurge at $310). 🥵 It was beautiful and I felt like it was the ultimate luxury duvet. However, I did some serious digging to find an affordable duvet with all the necessary checkmarks.
I’m thrilled to say I’ve found the exact same feeling for hundreds LESS with Quince! 🤩
Quince Down Alternative Duvet insert is ethically sourced (RSD certified), made in the USA and features baffle box construction to ensure uniform fluff, even after extended use. My year-long sleeping experience with this comforter allows me to attest to its truth. Here is a picture of my Quince Comforter after a year.
BONUS! It can even be machine-washed and dried 😱 and I’ve done it quite a few times over the last year to prove it maintains its structure. 👏🏻 For added security, the product also comes with corner loops. 😱 Here’s one review that originally had me sold on this option:
“I tried many brands such as Avocado, Boll and Branch, etc., but I found Quince to have excellent quality and a great price point.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Speaking of these luxury brands, here’s how they compare to Quince’s price point:
Quince – $99.90 (twin) | $129.90 (full/queen) | $149.90 (king)
- Boll & Branch – $349 (full/queen) | $399 (king)
- Parachute – $210 (twin) | $310 (full/queen) | $360 (king)
- Avocado – $359 (twin) | $479 (full/queen) | $599 (king)
- Brooklinen – $199 (twin) | $259 (full/queen) | $309 (king)
Prices of these duvets speak for themselves Even the most affordable option of twin size from Brooklinen costs $100 less, or $150 less for a king! 😱
Even though my previous Parachute down duvet comforter was considerably more, I can’t tell a difference between it and my Quince insert! Now that I’m well beyond my 365-day trial period, I wanted to share a photo showing just how fluffy it’s stayed!
I’ve experienced NO clumpy, uneven sections and it remains flawless in every aspect and genuinely elevates the luxury of our bed. Compare it to my Quince duvet, compared with the Parachute (on the left). 🤩
After a year, my final thoughts about this duvet are:
These comforters are the same size, have an even distribution of fluff and regulate your temperature during the night. I didn’t expect much for the super low cost, but I’m truly wowed by the quality of Quince and this best down alternative comforter.
Plus, after a year of consistent use, I can confidently say the baffle box construction is durable and all of my “fluff” has remained evenly distributed. This is luxury bedding for a reasonable price. 😍
